Activities
This trip will offer opportunities to engage with the women of Stitching Hope (sewing cooperative) such as hand-painting fabric and making fair trade craft items.
And, of course, there will be time for a bit of sightseeing!
Participants should be in good health, able to walk at least ¼ mile, and must be pre-approved.
Accommodations
We will stay in the Peace House and eat simple (but delicious) meals prepared by the community. Nicaraguan translators will be part of the team. We will continue to develop our relationships with the people of Chacraseca, participate in cultural activities, and visit the newest JustHope projects!
Travelers will be limited to one carry-on suitcase per person for the trip — it’s a chance to see what we can do without!
Costs
The cost is $825 per person plus airfare to Managua, Nicaragua. This covers lodging, meals, in-country transportation, interpreter expenses, and trip coordination and leadership. The only other personal costs will be meals en route to and from Nicaragua, $10 entry visa, souvenirs, and any unscheduled activities/meals the team decides to add. If a minimum number of participants is not reached, the cost person may increase. We have limited space for this adventure.
Travel Arrangements
Participants book their own flights, either individually or as a group. Participants must arrive in Managua by 3pm on the first day of the trip.
Deadlines
May 14: Online registration and deposit due.
June 10: Full payment, passport copy, JustHope paperwork, and flight itinerary are all due. See this page for more information.
