Michael Quintin retired in 2017 and lives in Aurora, Ohio. His career has included serving in the US Air Force as a navigator, working in private industry as a manufacturing engineer, operations manager, environmental and safety consultant, management systems auditor, and as an environmental manager at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Michael has been an adult volunteer in Scouting since 1986 with experience in Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, and Venturing. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to hike at Philmont Scout Ranch, sea kayak at Florida Sea Base, canoe along the French River in Ontario, and attend World and National Jamborees. He is a member of the Federated Church which has been a faith-based partner of JustHope since 2011. Michael has visited Chacraseca three times with his wife, Gabrielle.

He has traveled with other international organizations and likes the partnership model of JustHope. “Doing a project WITH local help forms much stronger bonds with a community than when you come in and do a project FOR them. I have also come to really value the importance of doing a home-stay. Being with someone in their home brings a closeness and friendship beyond casual encounters.”
