Fellowship Congregational UCC has a long relationship with JustHope, back even to JustHope's founding days under Rev. Leslie Penrose, who is a member here. Currently that support means space in our building for JustHope's Tulsa office and the hosting of the annual “International Artisan Fair” selling fair-trade items in our fellowship hall. We also provide financial support, including a recent shift of church funds to support the microcredit banks in Nicaragua and local help with the annual “Wine for Water” fundraising event held in Tulsa.
Our pastor currently serves as the President of the Board for JustHope, and we have had several members travel with JustHope and serve in long-term, direct help positions within the organization, including as trip leaders, event planners and volunteers. JustHope continues to be a vital part of our work as a church, both within our walls and out into the world beyond.
