First United Methodist, Colorado Springs

First United Methodist Church of Colorado Springs first visited the Chacraseca area around 2012. We made the connection to JustHope, because JustHope Founder Rev. Leslie Penrose had been the youth director for our youth director. Our youth department created the first mission team and while there they helped clean, paint and repair many of the buildings near the Peace House as well as building a soccer field. Since that time, we have sent two more adult/youth teams and are planning a fourth. We have built latrines and laid the floor for the community farm pavilion. We have a core group of people who have grown attached to the relationships which we have formed with this community. We are particularly responsive to the model of collaboration JustHope uses with the people of Chacraseca. Our prayers continue to lift them to experience healing and prosperity.
