Harvard Avenue Christian Church has been partnering with the community of Chacraseca since 2016. The congregation understands this cross-cultural partnership to serve an important role in the faith journey of those who participate; one of relationship-building, exchange, witness and service. It is a way to cultivate a deeper understanding of our human connection and a faith that transcends the borders of nations.
Through JustHope PartnerTrips to Chacraseca, the congregation has connected more deeply with the reality our neighbors in Nicaragua, while sharing in the joy and challenges of community development. To date, Harvard Avenue has participated alongside the community in the construction of the Centro Cultural (Cultural Center) and a family unit home. The congregation has also embraced the two-way nature of their partnership through the hosting of delegates from Chacraseca and JustHope staff in Tulsa.
