St. Andrews Lutheran Church and Campus Center, Champaign, IL

PaintingPulperiaSt. Andrew's is an ELCA church and also a campus center, which means they worship as part of an inter-generational congregation, but one that is rooted in a campus community.

They are part of the Lutheran Student Movement, a "Reconciled in Christ" church, and although most of the members are affiliated with the University of Illinois, all are welcome.

St. Andrew's first trip to Santa Emilia was in March of 2011, when they focused on getting to know the community, working with women on microcredit projects, and learning about life as a migrant coffee picker in Nicaragua. Following their trip, they provided a scholarship for a university student in La Flor. They are now a Covenant Partner and focusing on university education and building latrines.
