University Congregational Church in Wichita, Kansas, is proud of it's partnership with JustHope and the communities of León and Chacreseca, Nicaragua. Through an annual partner trip, where participants experience the daily lives of our Nicaraguan friends and share bonding experiences to last lifetimes, to maintaining a craft store of Nicaraguan goods in our Fellowship Hall, University Church works to shrink the borders of the world and be better neighbors with our Central American friends. In September of 2017, University Church was honored to sponsor the León-based band, Amalgama, for an evening of traditional Nicaraguan music. The church was also able to produce a high-quality CD of this concert that has been used to raise funds for the community. Our belief is that we have much to learn from our Chacreseca neighbors about living in community and building God's world here and now.
